Lot of pictures!
This year for our “Not Back to School Field Trip” we went to
Old Sturbridge Village with Dad, Tania and her kids.
Old Sturbridge Village, the largest outdoor history museum in the Northeast, depicts a rural New England town of the 1830s. You are invited into more than 40 original buildings, including homes, meetinghouses, a district school, country store, bank, working farm, three water-powered mills, and trade shops - all situated on more than 200 scenic acres. Visitors can meet heritage breed farm animals and interact with authentically costumed staff.
Tuesday September 10, 2013 was Homeschool Day at the village and admission was $8 per person. We took advantage of the discount by signing the kids up for a cooking workshop as well for an additional $5. It was an awesome day although I have to make a note to myself to remember that I live in New England- land of unpredictable weather. I checked the forecast the night before and it read sunny and high of 80 for the following day. The next morning the weather gods must’ve changed their minds because the day actually started out quite cold and rainy. As you’ll see from the pictures, I didn’t dress Hayzel properly at all. Epic mommy fail.
Below are the places we visited before lunch. They are out of order.
