Since this last weekend of September was cold and rainy, Hayzel’s tball and soccer games were cancelled. We took the free time to finish up our monthly unit with two more projects.
First we made a Under-the-Sea diorama from supplies I had gathered over the last few weeks. I got a lot of end of summer clearance items at Michaels, which luckily include ocean themed stuff.
To finish out the month Hayzel and I made an ocean themed cake.
We used french vanilla cake mix, cream cheese frosting, blue food coloring, Swedish fish, and some ocean figurines we had laying around.
This boy was mighty proud of himself. He called up his friends C and J and invited them over for cake as soon as he was done. And to quote Tania:
Jayden: "Mom this cake is so delicious I can't stand it!"
Caitlin never spoke a word until she was done.
