The End

On May 24, 2012 Hayzel completed his last Kindergarten lesson in the Time 4 Learning curriculum.  He is now a whole year ahead of his peers.

Currently we are taking a breather for school and we will continue on to 1st Grade in June. Here at Oak Ridge Academy we do not take summer breaks. Since our school day is not 7.5 hours long/ 5 days a week, I feel there is not need to stop. Also, Hayzel asks for school. Its part of his daily routine and as long as he wants to learn, I will provide him with the tools to do so.
Last month, for his 5th birthday, Hayzel received a brand new TouchSmart computer gifted by his grandparents and mom and dad. He was not expecting anymore presents so he was really surprised.

He loves it, I love it, its wonderful! I’ve found a lot of cool educational software that is compatible with it and we are all happy! And yeah yeah, I know a computer for a 5 year old seems much, but not every 5 year old has a 100% online curriculum for school. This is also something that will grow with him. Before this, Hayzel was using my laptop and I found myself twiddling my thumbs while he did school work, all the while wishing I had access to another computer so that I could do my school work while I supervised his. Also, originally I wanted a SmartBoard for our homeschool. But my ever parsimonious (and very smart) husband was not having it, so this was our compromise.
Please take notice of the cute little desk I found in a thrift store. I love it! It does require some TLC but I haven’t gotten around to getting it done.
